Student wellbeing

At Crosshill School, we believe that wellbeing is the foundation for learning. All learners access our wellbeing curriculum at the start and end of each school day, ensuring they are emotionally ready to learn and supported to reflect, regulate and settle before transitions.

Our wellbeing curriculum is part of our universal provision and is rooted in the NHS 5 Steps to Wellbeing:
Connect, Be Active, Take Notice, Keep Learning and Give.

Through carefully planned and age-appropriate activities, pupils are supported to:

  • Develop emotional awareness and resilience
  • Build positive relationships and a sense of belonging
  • Regulate emotions and manage transitions successfully
  • Develop confidence, independence and self-esteem

Beginning the day with wellbeing activities helps pupils to feel safe, calm and ready to engage with learning, while ending the day with wellbeing supports reflection, emotional regulation and a positive transition home.

The impact of our wellbeing curriculum is seen in improved engagement, communication, emotional regulation and readiness to learn. By embedding wellbeing into the daily routine, we equip our learners with the skills and strategies they need to flourish both in school and beyond. At Crosshill School, we nurture the whole child, ensuring every learner feels supported, valued and prepared to achieve their full potential.
