Visit from Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue Team

On Monday 18 March Crosshill School had some very important visitors

Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue Team provides all year round Mountain Search and Rescue Service in both the rural and urban districts of Lancashire, and beyond when assisting other teams. Lancashire Police or the Ambulance Authority will call out the team when their services are required.

Former Crosshill School Headteacher Mr Maddison retired a few years ago. He is now a member of the Bowland PEnnine Mountain Rescue Team and he came into school to give our students a talk on the emergency services, demonstrate the equipment they use and talk about keeping safe outdoors. Our students enjoyed getting hands on with all the rescue equipment and were able to sit in the emergency vehicle and sound the siren and learned about the apparatus used.
