Train Work Experience
On 5th and 6th June two groups of our Year 10 and 11 students attended a train work experience day organised by British Transport.
The students travelled from Blackburn train station to Manchester and attended a workshop where they met members of the Transport Police, train conductors and drivers. They also were allowed to see areas of the station that are restricted to the public and spent time with the train driver in the front control cabin on the train.
The students were able to ask questions and learned all about working on the trains and in the train stations including health and safety and procedures.
Our students were so impressed that they are also inspired to become train drivers and conductors. All the students were great ambassadors for the school and were complimented by the organisers of the event
