Some of our Post 16 learners recently visited Tesco in Blackburn as part of the ‘World of Work Programme’ organised by The King’s Trust.
During the visit, learners were given a behind-the-scenes tour of the store and had the opportunity to learn about the different roles available across departments. They also took part in mock interviews, where they practised answering questions and developing their confidence in a professional setting.
To finish the visit, learners were each given a voucher for a meal deal, which they chose and purchased independently using the self-checkout — putting their communication, decision-making and money skills into practice.
A fantastic opportunity to build employability skills and confidence in a real-world environment. Well done to everyone involved!
