On Tuesday 5 December Crosshill School hosted an SEND Review Coffee Morning for parents
Karen Askham held the coffee morning to meet with parents to gather their views as part of the SEND Review for Blackburn with Darwen Borough.
Karen is the Associate Lead for Contact for the review process. She lives in West Yorkshire and is a parent of a young man with high functioning ASC, a carer to a disabled parent as well as having over 15 years experience working with parents through forums, charities, and support services both in management and on the front line.
Part of Karen’s role is to get the views of as wide a reach of stakeholders including parents and family members to submit as part of the SEND report.
We had an amazing turnout of parents who attended and gave up their free time to attend the coffee morning and workshop. Karen was delighted with the parents input during the session and thanked everyone for attending.
We had a good response to the SEND review surveys that have been returned to school. These surveys will also be included in the report.
