Multi-Academy Trust Proposal for Crosshill at BCHS

16/11/2018

Crosshill School and BCHS have put forward a proposal to form a Multi-Academy Trust (MAT).

The governing bodies of both Crosshill and BCHS have for some time been carefully considering the best future of both schools.

We want to secure and build on the strengths that have resulted in Ofsted judging our schools as ‘Good’, which have supported our young people to achieve some amazing outcomes.

The governing bodies recognise that it is clear that our schools will at some point have to establish partnerships or join a Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) in order to work together, create efficiencies and raise standards.

The time is now right for Crosshill and BCHS to form a Multi-Academy Trust. Our proposal is that Crosshill and BCHS convert to academy status on April 1st 2019.

Consultation

The governing bodies wish to consult with parents, carers, staff and students on the proposal for BCHS with Crosshill to convert to academy status.

The consultation period runs from Wednesday 14th November 2018 until Friday 14th December 2018.

The governing body will then consider the responses before making its final decision on the proposal.

You can submit feedback via the form on our website here http://bchs.co.uk/academisation-blackburn-central-high-school-crosshill/

Below is a link to the section on our website dedicated to the academy proposal process, which contains further information.

If you have any questions our Headteacher Diane Atkinson and some of our governors will be available on Monday 26th November 2018 between 4:00pm and 5:00pm at BCHS with Crosshill.
