Duke of Edinburgh Studies at Crosshill School
This term Years 10 and 11 Duke of Edinburgh group have started their practical training
The students are now visiting local areas to practice their orienteering skills and survival skills outdoors, working towards the Bronze Award.
They have visited Roddlesworth in January. Roddlesworth area has many varied walks include one to Darwen Tower taking in some fantastic views. This circular walk takes approximately 2 hours to complete. Another shorter walk is the Roddlesworth Nature Trail which winds through trees following the River Roddlesworth. The varied countryside helps the students to use their map reading skills to point out landmarks.
