All school council representatives are elected through a vote within their pastoral groups encouraging democracy. All the young people at Crosshill- irrespective of ability, personality, race or gender are encouraged to feel valued and safe within an inclusive and caring environment. Crosshill School Council helps the young people to create positive change within their school community. The school council is an inclusive, structured forum for decision making. It is a way to raise issues and concerns and a way for the school council to consult all young people within Crosshill. The school council helps young people develop responsible attitudes and better behaviour. It creates a feeling of belonging, encourages listening to others and develops self-confidence. It also improves young people and teacher interaction. The young people at Crosshill lead the meetings with some support.
